Cushions in the boat - How to sleep better in the boat?

We often receive requests for new cushions for the bunks and beds in boats. Most customers who ask this question are primarily looking for better sleeping comfort. What is rarely considered is that a completely new cushion rarely solves the problem.

New pillows for better sleeping comfort?

No, this is usually not the answer. When you order brand new ordinary cushions covered with the same color and material as for example in the salon, it is usually quite hard and / or not adapted for sleeping on. It is certainly very nice to get into a boat where all the cushions are made of the same material, but most often we find that customers have a completely different expectation of new cushions than what is reasonable when it comes to comfort in the sleeping areas.

Want to sleep better? -Buy a mattress topper

On ordinary cushions, a mattress topper can make a huge difference. In particular, a memory foam mattress pad from Kapell & Annat. It becomes just like at home a whole layer that adapts to the contours of the body. It's also a much cheaper option than new cushions. We have templates for some boats, but sometimes we need the customer's help to make a template on the bed mattress. Fortunately, this is extremely easy.

But my cushions are old and look boring!

Then maybe you should take the opportunity to switch to a spring mattress from Flexima combined with a bed mattress. This will be a further upgrade in comfort and there are lots of different choices to make when it comes to thickness and options such as integrated mattress pads, fitted sheets in different colors and so on. When making the mattress, the weight and height of the users are taken into account. Of course, sometimes the thickness is limited by the height of the cabin, but it is likely that a good solution can be found. The disadvantage of a spring mattress is that it cannot be upholstered in the same material as in the lounge.
