A bimini is the perfect sunshade for the cockpit of both motorboats and sailboats. The bimini is a very good choice for warmer and more weatherproof climates where the enclosure that a Cockpit Enclosure offers is rarely required. The functionality of a bimini is always provided by a Cockpit Enclosure from Kapell & Annat as all parts except the roof can be stowed away.
The key to a good bimini is to have one that can be out in all weather conditions. As with any boat canopy or cover, it is important that the bimini's frames are stable, durable and keep the fabric stretched.
A bimini is usually best suited for sailboats with a high boom and a sheet drawn through the mast to avoid a sheet going through the bimini into the cockpit. Bimini is the obvious choice if your sailboat is in the Mediterranean and is a mass-produced brand. For motorboats, a bimini is best suited to the mid-cabin or flybridge. Here you can read more in depth about Boat canopies for motorboats where bimini is one of several different boat canopies suitable for motorboats.

Optional Frames
If you do not have a bimini today, you will need new frames as well. We usually manufacture these as a custom made solution on site on your boat. The arches are usually made in 25mm stainless steel, but for very wide boats 30mm is used.
